Reading Club and Numbers Club: Conditions of Participation

INTRODUCTION

1. I am the parent or guardian who is responsible for the student/s and I agree with and consent to all the terms set out in these Terms and Conditions.

2. Only the Terms and Conditions outlined in this form apply to the relationship between Reading Club, myself and my child/ren.

3. I understand that Reading Club reserves the right to amend any condition without prior notice. Reading Club will notify me in writing of any significant or substantial variations to these Terms and Conditions as soon as possible.

FEES AND ASSOCIATED CHARGES

4. I am responsible for paying fees and associated charges.

5. I will pay fees and associated charges within the stipulated timeframe.

6. I understand my child/ren will be automatically enrolled in the same class in the following term and Reading Club will send me an invoice for payment, unless I inform Reading Club otherwise.

7. I understand the term’s fee secures a place in the Reading and / or Numbers Club Program for one term and the fee is not for the sessions themselves, but for the whole term’s tuition.

8. I understand each session has considerable fixed costs which need to be paid whether a student attends the class or not.

9. I understand that when enrolling my child/ren, I am locking in a place for my child/ren in the Reading and / or Numbers Club Program. Whether we use this place becomes our own choice.

10. I understand that if my child/ren miss any classes, these classes are not carried forward into future terms.

11. I understand that all paid fees are non-refundable in the event that my child/ren do not attend class. No deductions will be made because the expenses incurred by Reading Club for running classes still remain and are not lessened by my child/ren’s incidental absence.

12. I understand that all paid fees are non-refundable in the event that your child/ren are unable to receive services for circumstances outside of Reading Club’s control: for example, evacuations, emergencies, natural disasters, pandemics etc.

13. I understand that if Reading Club cancels my child/ren’s class, Read Club will offer an alternative class to make up the lesson. If my child/ren is unable to attend the rescheduled class, Reading Club will either refund the cost of the session in full, or credit cost of the session to the next term’s fees.

14. I understand if my child/ren is suffering from a long-term illness resulting in at least three continuous missed classes, Reading Club will credit the cost of the classes towards the subsequent term on the following conditions:

a. My child/ren did not attend school or partake in any other extra-curricular activities; and

b. I apply at the time of the missed lessons for a full class credit. The application should include the start and end date, the number of credits and submitted in writing via email to accounts@readingclub.com.au.

15. I understand other long absences will be considered on a case-by-case basis but at most, they will result in a partial credit towards the subsequent term.

16. I understand all credits will be used to offset the cost of the next term’s fees. If we choose to not continue with classes, then the credits will be forfeited.

17. I understand that the session’s fees are not transferable to another child.

18. I understand that classes will not take place on public holidays and accordingly, no fees or associated charges are payable for these days.

19. Prior to my child/ren leaving Reading Club, I must give one week’s notice of this intention to Reading Club.

HEALTH

20. I understand I am responsible to respond to screening questions and disclose symptoms, travel history and proximity to confirmed COVID-19 cases honestly and accurately. Failure to do so puts other children, families and teachers at significant risk.

20. I am responsible for communicating with Reading Club teachers, any relevant medical condition/s my child/ren have that may impact their health and wellbeing through Reading Club classes.

21. I understand Reading Club cannot provide my child/ren with any medical or like treatment, although they will inform me as soon as possible if they have any concerns about their health.

22. In the event of an emergency, I understand that Reading Club will contact ‘000’ and I am fully responsible for any expenses that are incurred for treating my child/ren’s health.

23. It is my responsibility to notify Reading Club of any changes in familial circumstances that could affect the wellbeing of my child/ren.

24. I am responsible for punctually collecting my child/ren following their Reading Club class. If you are more that thirty minutes late and we are unable to contact you, we are obliged to notify the police.
